JOB TITLE: INTAKE SPECIALIST
JOB SUMMARY: The Intake Specialist is responsible for providing crisis intervention, information and referral and determine eligibility for services. They will provide administrative and direct service support for the Counseling Program. In addition, they will serve as backup coverage for the front office.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as first point of contact for clients and schedule initial screening appointments for clients.
Provide crisis intervention, information and referral for a high volume of incoming calls and ability to assess eligibility for programs.
Assist Director in completing grant reports
Utilize various data systems for the collection of information on clients.
Organize and prepare new client files.
Track Victim’s Compensation billing on a monthly basis.
Provide backup administrative support at the front desk and administrative department.
Assume other duties as assigned by the Director.
CREDENTIALS, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES:
High School Diploma or equivalent, some college
Minimum of 1 year of experience working in the Human Services field
Consistently plans/coordinates work to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency without sacrificing quality, accuracy, and customer service. Meets deadlines in completing job assignments
Compassion to others and have effective communication skills
Awareness and sensitivity to the issues of the LGBT community
Awareness to feminism and sensitivity to the societal issues of women
Technical capacity in using various data systems and Microsoft Office products
Bachelor’s Degree in Behaviorial Science, social work, sociology or related field
